September 3, 2004 Criminal art? Fox News' lawsuit against satirist, Al Franken for his use of their trademark, "Fair and Balanced" was dimissed, but by no means, ignored. To what extent can artists invoke their right to fair use? A recent art exhibit aptly titled, Illegal Art explores the hotly debated issue of intellectual property and criticism.
August 24, 2004 The above diagram was conceived by Charles Eames and displayed in the 1969 Exhibition Qu'est-ce Que Le Design? (What is Design?) at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. We decided that our inaugural blog entry would honor the legendary designer's philosophy to serve client, society and designer—aiming for that overlap where "the designer can work with emotion and enthusiasm." To learn more about the Eames' contribution to modern design, visit their online exhibit at the Library of Congress.
